The FUFA Super 8 will return this year after missing out for the last three years following the horrendous Covid-19.
Vipers SC last won the competition in 2019 beating inaugural winners KCCA FC 2-0 in the final that was held at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku. Fahad Bayo brace was enough to seal it for the Venoms.
This year’s competition will see the top eight teams in the Uganda Premier league last season battle before the start of the 2023/24 season.
Double Champions Vipers SC will battle BUL FC away from home in the Quarterfinal while inaugural competition winners KCCA FC will travel to Wakiso Giants.
SC Villa will host Maroons FC for a place in the semifinal whereas URA FC will face off with Arua Hill SC.
It will be a one leg tie and in case of a draw after 90minutes the winners will be determined in a penalty shootout.
The third edition of the competition will be sponsored by MTN Uganda and Nile Special. The competition will be held between 4th to 18th August.
