NEC FC cruised to a 3-1 win over Express FC in the league contest under the floodlights of Lugogo on Thursday.
Muzamir Mutyaba, Paul Mucureezi and Allan Mugalu netted the three goals for Hussein Mbalangu’s side.
Conrad Ssenjogera found a consolation for the Red Eagles who beat NEC FC 2-1 in the first round meeting at Nakivubo Stadium.
Mutyaba gave the hosts the lead in the fourth minute after being fed by Marvin Kavuma.
Kavuma again assisted Mucureezi in the 20th minute as NEC doubled their advantage.
Second half Substitute Mugalu who replaced Enock Ssebaggala after the recess scored the third goal for the Diehards in the 54th minute.
Ssenjogera found a late consolation for the visitors in the 81st minute.
NEC move to 47 points after their comfortable win over Express and close the gap on leaders Vipers to two. The Red Eagles on the other hand remain in seventh position with 28 points.
