The first edition of the Latif Sebaggala Kawempe Division Empya Football tournament has officially been launched at Wandegeya Playground.
The tournament is fully funded by the aspiring Kawempe Mayor, Al Hajji Latif Sebaggala was launched on Thursday and it will kick off on 28th June, 2024.
Sebaggala asserted that the tournament is about uniting communities, fostering teamwork and nurturing talents in Kawempe
“It is with great pride and excitement that I announce the launch of the Latif Sebaggala Kawempe Division Empya Football Tournament. This marks the inaugural tournament in our beloved division, and it stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering the immense talent of our youth and promoting community spirit through sports.”

The tournament will see participants competing with vigor and sportsmanship, with rewards for the top ten teams. The winning team will be awarded a bull, 1 million shillings, 2 soccer balls, and a full team jersey. The second-place team will receive a bull, 500,000 shillings, 1 soccer ball, and a full team jersey, while the third-place team will be awarded a goat, 250,000 shillings, 1 soccer ball, and a team jersey.
