SC Villa have unveiled Chinese tyre manufacturers Linglong Tire are set to become partners after their new sponsor ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The development was confirmed on Thursday at City Oil headquarters in Kamwokya.
As earlier reported by this website the partnership between the record Uganda Premier league champions and the leading figure in tyre production company is a five year deal.
The unveiling ceremony was graced by the club President Omar Mandela, Linglong’s Cathy Kao who heads International Business and Chairman Board of Directors Gerald Sendawula.
SC Villa will receive $150,000 per year which will total to $750,000 after five years from the Chinese tire manufacturing company.
This means that SC Villa will scoop Shs540m per year which totals to Shs2.7bn in five years.
“SC Villa is a strong team and we hope in the future the two parties can bring good luck together and achieve success together.” Said Kao
Chairman Board of Trustees, Ssendawula thanked Linglong for the commitment towards the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions
“No doubt everyone of us is so confident that we are the more prepared team than any other competitor. I thank Linglong for their commitment to the club. This has brought a difference to us and we thank them for coming on board to support our club.”
“With Linglong we aim to build a young and formidable team. It’s the clubs that identify potential materials to the national team. I have played a vital role to the development of football in this country.” Said Ssendawula
Both SC Villa and Linglong were founded in 1975.
The Chinese tyre markers have previously partnered with Italian Giants Juventus and German football club VfL Wolfsburg. At the company’s helm is chairman and president, Wang Feng.
