Buddu return to winning ways as Mawokota succumb to first defeat

Buddu Ssaza team returned to winning ways with a 2-0 away to Buluuli on Saturday in a Masengere Group contest of the 2023 Masaza Cup competition.

Isaac Ofoyrwoth scored a brace for the two times winners as they bounced back from their defeat over Kyadondo last weekend.

In the same group, Kyaggwe and Kyadondo played to a goalless draw on Sunday while Buwekula dropped points again with a 1-1 stalemate with Kooki Ssaza team.

Hudson Mbalire scored for Kooki before Brian Aniku levelled matters for the home side.

Mawokota suffered their first defeat in the 2023 Masaza Cup edition away to Mawogola in a Muganzirwa Group game that was played on Saturday.

Mawogola beat the three time winners 3-1 thanks to goals from Amis Bwangale (brace) and Benon Niyonzima. Mawokota’s goal was scored by Alex Mutebi.

Holders Busiro and record winners Gomba shared spoils in a goalless stalemate in the other Muganzirwa Group while Ssese overcame Kabula 2-1 courtesy of goals from Ivan Mayanja and Bashir Mobin

Ronald Turyamusima netted for Kabula.

Buvuma registered vital points away to Butambala in the Bulange Group game on Sunday with Jimmy Tamale scoring the all important goal.

In the other Bulange Group, Busujju and Bugerere played out to a goalless draw. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, 1st August Ssingo will host Bulemeezi at Mityana Ssaza Grounds.
