The Uganda Athletics Federation has confirmed a 21-man team that will represent Uganda at the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Hungary, Budapest.
The event will be held in August 19-27th at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest.
The number 21 is an increment from the 17 that represented the nation at the previous worlds that were held in Eugene, Oregon, United States last year.
The team comprises of dynamic duo of Joshua Cheptegei (two time 10000m World Champion) and Jacob Kiplimo(double Commonwealth champion).
Commonwealth Marathon champions Victor Kiplangat, Halima Nakaayi the 2019 World Champion in 800m and reigning 3000m Steeplechase Olympic Champion Peruth Chemutai.
Last year, Uganda finished 16th after garnering 3 medals with Cheptegei clinching Gold in the 10000m while Kiplimo and his half brother Oscar Chelimo scooped bronze each in the 10000m and 5000m.

Men – Tarsis Orogot (200m), Tom Dradriga (800m), Salim Abu Mayanja (1500m), Leonard Chemutai (3000m SC), Oscar Chelimo (5000m), Joshua Cheptegei (5000m, 10,000m), Jacob Kiplimo (5000m, 10,000m), Rogers Kibet (10,000m), Joel Ayeko (10,000m), Stephen Kissa (Marathon), Victor Kiplangat (Marathon), Andrew Rotich Kwemoi (Marathon)
