Buddo Secondary School officially inaugurated a campaign of reuniting old students through sports in a reunion held at the school on Sunday 13th August.
The reunion engaged students competing in football playing in a round robin format with teams formed according to the respective years of study.
The teams formed stretched from 1991 which is the year of the school’s establishment to the most recent academic class of 2022.
The legends team competed while consisting of a pool of the oldest players from 1991 to the early 2000s and notably had players like the newly named UPDF FC coach Pius Ngabo and Henry Kakooza among others.

The class of 2013 won the overall title despite impressive exploits from the historical class of 2010 which won the school’s first ever National Post Primaries championship.
The head master of the school Lawrence Muwonge commended the initiative and stressed its major objectives.
” The reunion is meant to bring former students of Buddo SS together. It is a perfect opportunity for the old students to meet and contribute new ideas towards the development of the school. They are surely going to exchange ideas and business opportunities.” Muwonge said.

The school’s games teacher Hakim Ssebunya said the reunion will be held annually with an aim of pulling more former students.

Ssebunya also added that next year’s edition will involve teams competing in Volleyball, Netball, Football and Basketball unlike the first edition that had teams competing in football only.

Some notable alumni who took part in this first edition include Samuel Kato Neyimana, Emmanuel Wasswa, Hakim Kiwanuka, Tonny Kyamera, Mudde Swaib, Ivan Mutumba, Babu Idd, Joseph Kafumbe, Yiga Joseph and Mark Nsubuga among others.

Jane Asinde who is fresh from representing Uganda in the recently concluded Women’s Afro Basketball in Kigali Rwanda, was also in attendance.
