BUL FC 1-1 SC Villa
*BUL advance 6-5 on penalties
Joel Mutakubwa saved two penalties in the post match shoot out to ensure BUL FC edge SC Villa at Njeru to storm the final of this year’s FUFA Super 8.
The game ended 1-1 in normal time and the penalties were the immediate tie breakers to determine which team progresses to the next round.
Villa took the lead through new signing Peter Onzima who finished off perfectly from a brilliant exchange with Ivan Bogere in the 26th minute.
BUL retaliated quickly and got a leveller through Samuel Sekamatte Kayongo who converted from the spot in the 41th minute.
The penalty was awarded by referee Ashadu Ssemeere after Reagan Kalyowa was brought down by Simon Mukisa on the edge of the box.
Both sides used the second half to seek a would-be winning goal that eventually didn’t come.
SC Villa’s Ronald Ssekiganda and Kenneth Semakula had their penalties saved by Joel Mutakubwa while BUL’s Douglas Muganga shot wide.
Sekamatte, Benon Tahomera, Ronald Otti, Mutakubwa, Lawrence Tezikya and Ibrahim Mugulusi scored for BUL to ensure a 6-5 victory.
Umar Lutalo, Edward Masembe, Hamza Mulambuzi, Patrick Jonah Kakande and Hakim Mutebi scored for Villa.
BUL FC will face the eventual winning team between KCCA and URA FC in the final. Villa with face the losing team of that second semi final.
