Vipers president reveals how he lured youngster Madoi out of Italy move

Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has explained that he stopped St.Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende captain Ronald Madoi from heading to Italy before helping the school at the FEASSSA Games in Rwanda.

Madoi who also features Uganda Premier league Wakiso Giants was due to travel to Italy and complete his move to lower division side Suzzara SC.

Mulindwa stated that he called Madoi to cancel the journey to Italy and first play for the school in the just concluded FEASSSA Games in Rwanda.

“Madoi was going for trials and I called him to cancel the journey and first help the school team at the FEASSSA Games in Rwanda. He listened to me and stayed to help the team, I thank him.” Said Mulindwa while welcoming the triumphant SMASK teams on Tuesday

Madoi is expected to complete his transfer to Suzzara SC before the end of the transfer window.

He captained Kitende to their 14th East African title in Rwanda. They beat Amus College 4-2 on penalties in the final that was played on Sunday.

He also won the National Schools’ title with Kitende this year in Fort Portal.

The defender was part of the Uganda Hippos team that featured at the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
