Ugandan striker Derrick Kakooza is set to join Ethiopia Premier League side Ethiopia Coffee SC also known as Ethiopia Bunna.
The club announced Kakooza’s arrival in Addis Ababa and that the striker will travel to Adama City where the club is currently holding pre-season training.
Kakooza is expected to complete the move in the coming days having agreed terms with the club.
It should be noted that Kakooza spent the closing six months of last season in Egypt with ENPPI but unfortunately did not feature for the club since he was not registered on time.
His transfer to Egypt in January this year came a few days after he had moved to Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS) in Finland and left after featuring in one game for them.
The former Police FC striker earned international recognition after emerging as the top scorer of the 2021 U20 AFCON tournament held in Mauritania with five goals.
He subsequently left Police and joined Latvian side Valmiera FC where he featured for the club’s reserve team before moving to Finland.
He will be the second Ugandan at Ethiopia Coffee after Cranes defender Geoffrey Wasswa who joined the club on a three year contract last month.
Ethiopia Coffee are two time winners of the Ethiopian Premier League and five time winners of the Ethiopian Cup.
