KCCA FC head coach Sergio Traguil has revealed that his side lost to Libya’s Abu Salem in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round first leg contest due to silly mistakes and inexperience.

KCCA FC were humbled 3-1 by the Libyan side on Sunday at Rades Stadium in Tunisia.

“We started the game very nervous. We didn’t play our football, especially in the first twenty minutes. We made some silly mistakes.” Traguil stated before adding,

“It’s also lack of competition; this team is having competition more than us, and also our inexperience in this CAF situation led us some silly mistakes,”

Added the Portuguese tactician.

The Kasasiro boys will be seeking to make amends when the two sides face off in the return leg on Saturday, 30th September at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

They need to score 2-0 to prevail to the group stages of the competition.

It should be remembered that in 2017 the 13 Uganda Premier league champions cruised to the Group stages of the Confederation Cup and in 2018 progressed to the CAF Champions league.

They were however eliminated by AS Otoho in 2019 and AS Kigali of Rwanda in 2020.
