FUFA Big League side Police FC have officially unveiled Simon Peter Mugerwa as their new head coach.
The CAF B licensed coach replaces Angelo Lonyesi who was in charge of the side as they reached the Uganda Cup final and narrowly missed out on gaining topflight division football last season.
Mugerwa has previously managed at worked as assistant coach at SC Villa and Soltilo Bright Stars. He also served at Fire Masters.
He is one of the most successful coaches in the Masaza Cup tournament having won two titles with Bulemeezi (2019) and most recently with Busiro (2022). He currently manages at Buddu.
Besides managing in the topflight and Masaza Cup, Mugerwa has had spells at Kakungulu Memorial and currently at Buddo Secondary School in the schools’ competitions.
At Police FC, he will be assisted by Robert Sekweyama and former Uganda Cranes left back Nestroy Kizito.
Lwanga Ben Kalama is the Goalkeepers coach while Fazil Ibrahim has been retained as the fitness coach.
Police FC will start their Big League campaign against Young Elephants FC on 25th September at Kavumba Recreation ground
