Following consecutive stalemates against Mbarara City and SC Villa, defending champions Vipers SC managed to record their 3rd victory of the season with an impressive win over bogey side Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba recreation grounds in Wakiso.

Two unanswered goals that came at the restart of the second period from Abdul Karim Watambala and Bright Anukani gave the visitors all three points on the evening.

Bright Stars who looked a resolute side in the first 45 minutes were broken within four minutes of the restart after Watambala’s shot was deflected off Andy Kyambadde’s shin to get past Derrick Were.

Moments later, some beautiful work from Abdul Lumala and Eric Kambale saw Bright Anukani finish off Vipers’ second to put them in cruise control.

Bright Stars chased shadows from then until Ashadu Semere called the ball off for full time and Vipers marches back to Kitende with 3 points in their bag propelling them to 4th place on the log 11 points, only 4 behind leaders Kitara.

Bright Stars remain the drop zone in 13th place having only 2 points and are yet to win a single game.

Their hope for redemption will be charged towards a visit to Mbarara City on October 31st.

Vipers will host Wakiso Giants on the same date on the same date at Kitende.
