Busoga United captain Mulanda handed a 12 match ban for head-butting referee

The FUFA Disciplinary Panel has suspended Busoga United captain Charles Sunday Mulanda suspended for 12 matches after headbutting a referee.

The FUFA Disciplinary Panel (FDP) has sanctioned Mulanda Charles Sunday of Busoga United FC with a ten match plus a fine of 500,000/= for breach of FUFA Competitions rules and Article 13(1) and Article 14(3)(vi) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code during the Uganda Premier League match against Gaddafi FC on 24th October 2023 at Gaddafi Arena-Jinja. Mulanda headbutted the referee.

In addition to the two-match automatic suspension for the send-off in the same game, the player shall miss a total of the next twelve (12) physically played games.

According to FUFA, Mulanda  must pay the fine immediately. He is prohibited from taking part in any football activities until the fine is paid in full and the ban is completed.

Last week, the Federation suspended Wakiso Giants defender Bashir Asiku for 5 matches for attacking match officials while URA FC captain Enock Walusimbi was handed a two match suspension for a harsh tackle on Wakiso Giants player Samson Kigozi.
