Goalkeeper Derrick Ochan to leave KCCA FC

KCCA FC goalkeeper Derrick Ochan will not extend his stay at the club his employment contract expires later this month.

Ochan joined the Lugogo based side in 2021 as a free agent on a three year deal during Morley Byekwaso’s reign.

This website understands that Ochan will leave the 13 time Ugandan champions at the end of this month.

KCCA FC want to replace Ochan with Vipers SC goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora and the deal is believed to be in advanced stages.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Anthony Emojong who served as the first choice at KCCA is likely to be out for a while due to the injury he got in the closing stages of last season.

Besides KCCA FC, Ochan has previously featured for Vipers SC and Police FC. He is also a product of the FUFA Juniors League and featured for Vipers Junior Team before joining the senior team where he spent four years.

Ochan also serves as Acholi Province goalkeeper whom he led to the 2019 FUFA Drum triumph when they edged Bukedi 5-3 in the penalty shootout. In the shootout, Ochan was the hero with the most important save to earn Acholi their maiden FUFA Drum trophy.
