Kitara’s Nyakoojo ruled out for months

Kitara FC defender Benjamin Nyakoojo will be out for up to three months after fracturing his fibula in the FUFA Drum Game between Busoga Province and Tooro on Sunday.

Nyakoojo who had been summoned for the forthcoming Uganda Cranes World Cup Qualification games against Guinea and Somalia was forced off in the second half of the Tooro Province 3-1 defeat to Busoga in Kamuli after being involved in challenge with Reagan Kalyowa.

Kitara FC team doctors (Enock Kayondo and Nicholas Ssengoba) in liaison with Tooro Province team doctors, (Byaruhanga Jude & Kahunde Florence) confirmed that the former URA FC defender fractured his fibula in the left leg and is expected to be out for over 8 weeks.

“Benja fractured his fibula in the left leg but the good news is we have done the required diagnosis and expect him to be out for more than eight weeks before he can resume training. At this stage we are managing his condition using a pre- operative protection and pain relief.”Kayondo explained.

Nyakoojo will definitely be out for the reminder of the first round including this Friday’s game against his former paymasters URA FC.
