Uganda will be targeting their first victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers when they face off with Somalia on Tuesday at Stadium Du Municipal in Berkene, Morocco.
Paul Put’s charges suffered a 2-1 defeat in their opening game against Guinea on Friday last week.
Their next opponents in Group G, Somalia were also beaten by leaders Algeria 3-1.
Over the weekend, Uganda’s unused substitutes in the first game had a practice game with Guinea.
Uganda registered a narrow 1-0 win over Guinea, thanks to a Denis Omedi strike. In the same game, players such as William Kizito Luwaga, Allan Oryiwoth, Ramzey Kawooya all featured.

Put has a fully fit squad with Bobosi Byaruhanga who was forced off in the first half against Guinea ready for the contest so as Fahad Bayo and Travis Mutyaba.
This is the first time that the Somalis are taking part in the World Cup Qualifiers.
Somalia are ranked 196th in the FIFA World Rankings and the lowest on the continent.

Somalia’s only competitive win against Uganda Cranes was on August 12 1973 when they won 2-0 in Mogadishu in the AFCON Qualifiers preliminary round.
The two sides have previously faced off six times with Uganda winning them all.
Uganda has won all the previous six meetings against Somalia with majority coming in friendly matches, CECAFA and CHAN.
Meanwhile, the Somalis only competitive win against Uganda Cranes came on August 12th 1973 when they prevailed 2-0 in Mogadishu during the AFCON Qualifiers preliminary round.
Uganda however, managed to overturn the result with a 5-0 return leg win at Nakivubo Stadium.
