Uganda drops in latest FIFA Rankings despite successful AFCON campaign

Uganda Cranes have dropped in the latest FIFA rankings despite their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.

The Cranes who were ranked 87th in the previous rankings are now 88th in the latest rankings.

During the just concluded International break, Uganda lost 2-0 at home before winning away to Congo Brazzaville.

In Africa, Uganda is now ranked 19th while South Africa who topped Group K of the 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign are 57th in the world and 10th on the continent.

Paul Put’s men will be seeking to improve on their ranking during the March, 2025 International break when they will face Mozambique and Guinea in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
