Boxing Promotion company Great Strikers have part ways with heavyweight boxer Shafik Kiwanuka.

In January 2019, Kiwanuka put pen to paper on a five year employment contract with Great Strikers.

Great Strikers confirmed on Wednesday 22nd November, 2023 that they had replaces Kiwanuka with Ignatius Onyango.

Kiwanuka confirmed that he part ways with the promotion company owned by Sam Buchanan earlier this year.

“I part ways with Great Strikers at the start of this year. My focus is to return to the ring.” Kiwanuka said as per New Vision

During his time at Great Strikers, Kiwanuka has faced off with experienced opponents such as Thamsanqa Dube and South African Chris Thompson.

Last year in July, Kiwanuka beat Argentine Nestor Fabian Insaurralde in 20 seconds during the Universal Boxing intercontinental heavyweight title fight.

Kiwanuka was trolled on social media and his promoters following his victory against the Argentine who seemed unwilling to fight and even never landed a single blow.
