The draws for the 2025 Afrobasket Qualifiers were conducted on Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Uganda national senior men’s basketball team (Silverbacks) have been pitted against familiar opponents.
The Silverbacks will against face off with Cape Verde and Nigeria in Group B.
For starters, Cape Verde finished fourth in the last edition of the AfroBasket held in 2021 in Rwanda while the Silverbacks finished sixth.
The Silverbacks were also in the same group of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and during the 2021 edition they faced off with Cape Verde.
The other team in the group will be identified after the zonal qualifiers of Zone 1 and Zone 2.
Meanwhile, title holders Tunisia have been pitted against Angola who finished fifth in 2021, Guinea and Kenya in Group E.
