SC Villa returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Busoga United at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Thursday.
Umar Lutalo and Ronald Ssekiganda goals saw the record Uganda Premier league champions maximize points.
The Jogoos came into this contest back of a goalless draw with Mbarara City while Busoga were inspired with their shock win over KCCA FC.
In the 5th minute, referee William Oloya awarded SC Villa a penalty after a foul on Patrick Jonah Kakande.
Lutalo was entrusted with the responsibility but his effort was saved by Busoga custodian Michael Lutaaya.
The attacker made amends when he fired the hosts into the lead after being fed by man of the match Kakande.
Kakande had his effort kiss the post while Hakim Kiwanuka and Charles Lwanga had decent chances to extend Villa’s lead before the break.
With 15 minutes to normal time, Ssekiganda put the cherry on icing of the when he doubled Villa’s lead.
Dusan Stojanovic’s men now move to 12 points and are now 6th on the Uganda Premier league ehuke Busoga remain in 11th position.
SC Villa will next make a short trip to Soltilo Bright Stars on Tuesday before they take on arch-rivals Express FC on Friday next week.
