Buvuma DFA confirms kick off date for the maiden league

Buvuma District Football Associations have confirmed 16th February 2024 as the kick off date for the fifth division league.

This was in a meeting held at Magyo Ssaza grounds between Buvuma DFA executive and the team representatives.

Lubya Islands, Kitiko FC, Magyo FC, Kasaali A, Kasaali B, Bugaya Islands, Siliba FC, Kabubu FC and Lukale United are the nine teams expected to take part in the first ever organised league.

Fred Opondo the chairman Buvuma DFA is optimistic of a positive maiden season,

“It is a great opportunity for us the Islanders to finally have an organised league under Buganda Region Football Associations (BRFA).

“We appreciate BRFA for the guidance always, we thank retired FIFA Referee Hussein Bugembe who doubles as the District Education Officer (DEO) for organising a course that trained the referees to handle the upcoming encounters.”

Shadrack Nsobya is the CE0, Emmy Nsubuga is in charge of competitions while Mathias Mutebi is in charge of referee’s.

Buganda Region chairman Andrew Chairman and his executive are expected to grace the league opener at Magyo Ssaza grounds.
