Mbarara City are in advanced stages of signing midfielder Amir Kakomo before the window closes.
Swift Sports understands Kakomo is currently training with Mbarara City as preparations for second round of the Uganda Premier League.
The former SC Villa midfielder is set to reunite with Wasswa Bbosa who was his coach last season at Gaddafi FC.
Kakomo is set to become Mbarara City’s fifth signing in the current transfer window.
The Ankole Lions have already signed Sadic Ssekyembe, Pius Wangi, Benson Muhindo and former URA left-back Alex Akankwasa.
Akankwasa and Ssekyembe have been signed to solve the club’s deficiency in the left back position while Wangi and Muhindo are expected to search for goals.
Mbarara City are currently 11th on the league table with 17 points collected from the first 15 games played.
They will start the second round with a home game against Express FC on Friday 2nd February at a yet unconfirmed home ground.
