Alex Isabirye is set to leave his coaching duties at Express FC, Swift Sports has learnt.

Isabirye’s shocking decision to leave the Wankulukuku based side comes in the aftermath of a 4-3 defeat to rivals KCCA FC.

The reason for his resignation is still unclear but Swift Sports understands that he was not happy with how the club is run.

Isabirye verbally told Express FC officials that he has resigned from his job and consequently stormed out of Wankulukuku furious.

His imminent departure comes a week after he was crowned as the Uganda Premier League’s coach of the month for December.

Since his arrival at Express in November, Isabirye turned fortunes at the club and went on to win four consecutive league games including a 2-0 win over Vipers.

He recently signed a contract extension at the club after serving his initial one month contract towards the end of the first round.

Isabirye is a serial winner having won two Uganda Premier League titles and four Uganda Cups with four different clubs.

His most recent triumph was clinching a maiden double with Vipers SC last season before he resigned at the start of this current campaign.
