Wakiso Giants registered their first win of the second round after a narrow 1-0 victory over URA FC 1-0 on Tuesday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Victory for John Ayala Luyinda coached side see them pull away from the drop zone.
Kenneth Kimera scored the all important goal for the Wakiso based side.
Kimera fired the hosts into the lead midway into the second period off a quality ball from Marvin Nyanzi.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe had a brilliant chance to restore parity for the visitors but his effort rattled the crossbar in the 78th minute.
Wakiso held on to their win and move to 12th place with 20 points they have garnered so far this term. They are now five points above the red zone.
URA FC on the other hand remain seventh on the Uganda Premier league league table with 27 points.
