Uganda International Badminton Challenge attracts over 500 players

The 2024 Uganda International Badminton Challenge has officially began on Wednesday, 21st February at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala.

Over 500 players from 49 countries will take part in this year’s Challenge that was officially launched by the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) President Dr Donald Rukare on Wednesday.

The event will also be used as the last Paris Olympic Qualifier.

“We are happy that the Uganda Badminton Association and the Africa Badminton hosting this international championship with over 49 countries taking part in event. It is an important event for the players because it’s a qualifying event for the Olympics and many are here to collect points.” Said Rukare

Hosts Uganda, India, Brazil, Canada, USA, China, South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Spain, Finland are some of the countries taking part in event.

Lubega Muzafaru, Emudu Expedito, Tracy Naluwooza, Husina Kobugabe, Fadilah Shamika, Amos Muyanja, Owinyi Augustus are the players expected to rise the Ugandan flag.
