Japanese golfer, Hisae Kosiba emerged Ladies overall winner and Dennis Kawalya championing the men, at the recent WhiteCap Crisp sponsored UGC Lady Captain’s prize Awards at the par 72 Uganda Golf Course in Kitante.
Koshiba burnt the course with a round of 69 nett to beat a huge field of about 230 golfers, winning herself a plethora of goodies.
The Lady Captain’s Prize Tournament is an annual handover tournament held by the outgoing Lady Captain, currently Wendy Angudeyo, who was re-elected for a second term as Lady Captain.
While speaking at the ceremony, Wendy Angudeyo the Lady Captain thanked the lady golfers for entrusting her with yet another term in office to serve them as Lady Captain.
Under the Club champion category, Harriet Kitaka emerged winner with Wendy Angudeyo finishing runner up. Kitaka claimed the prize in Group A, with 76 nett while Aidah Khamis, was the Lady B winner with a back score of 74 nett.
While handing over WhiteCap Crisp prizes to Ladies winner Group C, Shalom Kayenje, Simon Lapyem, the UBL Innovations Projects Manager highlighted that golf is an inclusive sport and encouraged more ladies to join the sport.
“WhiteCap Crisp is a refreshing low alcohol beer for the perfect balance between playing golf and having some fun while at it”, he added.
Dickson Agaba, was the Men’s group A winner with 71 nett on count back with David Batanda, winning Group B with 68 nett while Samson Akankiza, swept Group C with 66 nett.
