Three time Masaza Cup tournament winners Mawokota have embarked on the search for a new head coach.
For the previous four Masaza Cup campaigns, Mawokota have been under the stewardship of Richard Malinga.
Malinga has twice guided the side to the semifinals of the prestigious competition in 2021 (losing to Buwekula) and most recently in 2023 (losing to Bulemeezi).
Mawokota Ssaza management team confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday that they are looking for a new head coach.
“Mawokota FC is seeking for credible personnel in football coaching field to send in an application as soon as possible for the position of head coach.”
“CAF “C” as a minimum must have obtained it at least three years ago, having other coaching credentials and experience in Masaza Cup competition is an added advantage.” Read part of the statement
According to Mawokota the head coach should be aged between 35 and 65 and must have his own assistant coach, fitness Coach and Goalkeeping coach.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that coaches Frank Mulindwa (formerly at Buwekula)and Steven Bogere (Formerly at Buddu) have already expressed interest in the vacant head coaching role.
The Management team has also confirmed that 24th March, 2024 will be the deadline for receiving applications.
The three time Masaza Cup Champions are seeking for their fourth Masaza Cup crown after triumphs in 2005, 2007 and 2013.
