Winger Abdu Lumala has today completed the move to Croatian topflight league club NK Slaven Belupo.

Lumala joins Belupo as a free agent following the termination of his contract with Vipers a month ago.

The Cranes forward has been involved in two friendlies with the Croatian club awaiting clearance which arrived this week.

Lumala says he can’t wait to hit the ground and pledges to reciprocate the trust vested in him.

” I can’t wait to play in the Croatian league, which is extremely competitive and difficult. I am my own biggest critic, so I will do my best at all times to repay the club for the trust shown..” He says after putting pen to paper.

” I’ve been in Koprivnica for three weeks, I’ve also played some friendly matches, so I won’t have any problems adjusting. I would like to thank the guys from the locker room who are excellent and who have really helped me feel at home in these 20 or so days” He adds.

He returns to Europe having previously played in Sweden with Mjällby AIF, Kalmar FF, Varbergs BoIS, Helsingborgs IF, IFK Värnamo and Syrianska FC.

It should also be noted that Roy Ferenčina who is the current Slaven Belupo head coach was an assistant coach during Lumala’s time at Pyramids FC in Egypt.

Lumala is in line for a league debut on Friday night as Slaven Belupo hosts Osijek at 8pm.

Belupo are currently 8th on the table of 10 teams with 27 points from 27 games played.
