Head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi has torn Vipers’ top hierarchy into two sides. One that pushes for his sack and another that still has faith in him as the man to guide them to a 3rd consecutive title.
Mbabazi recently missed the club’s victory over URA FC at Lugogo, he had earlier missed a Uganda Cup round of 16 tie against Iganga Young and the victory against Wakiso Giants at Kitende.
Sources privy to this website reveal that Dr. Mulindwa wanted to re-hire Alex Isabirye as Neiva’s replacement but the General Manager Stephen Mulindwa and the CEO Simon Njuba fronted Mbabazi as the better alternative hence his appointment.
However disappointedly Mbabazi has not reciprocated Stephen and Njuba’s trust with continuous absenteeism.
It is reported that called in with a desire to be at the touchline at Lugogo but he was not allowed to do so.
The defending champions are currently sitting 4th on the Uganda premier league log with 38 points, six behind leaders Kitara with two games in hand.
They will host UPDF FC on Friday for their next match.
Mbabazi asked for permission to go for a burial of one of his close family members on the eve of Vipers’ game against URA FC but surprisingly has not returned to Kitende for official duties since then.
