Stanbic Uganda Cup Final
•NEC 0-1 Kitara
Kitara FC cruised to their maiden Stanbic Uganda Cup glory with a narrow 1-0 win over NEC FC in the final that was held at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
Solomon Okwalinga netted the all important goal in the second half of the contest to send the Kitara faithfuls that has escorted their team into elation.
Both sides were featuring in their first ever Uganda Cup Final.
NEC FC who created the better scoring chances there dreams of lifting the Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy were denied fulfillment by Okwalinga’s 73rd minute goal.
Hussein Mbalangu’s were without their key man Joseph Dhata who had a decent 2023/24 campaign scoring 12 goals across all competitions.
It was a moment in coach Brian Ssenyondo’s life as his side lifted the 50th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup as NEC FC were left heart broken and empty handed.
Kitara FC will now represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Following their triumph they will also receive Shs50M from main competition sponsors Stanbic Bank Uganda while runners up NEC FC will bag Shs25M.
