Goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu was the hero as Nkima kicked out defending champions Ngonge to progress to the semi finals of the Bika Byabaganda Football tournament.
Kiggundu saved Emmanuel Wasswa’s penalty in a tense penalty shoot out to win 5-4 in spot kicks following a one all full-time draw.
Sharif Kimbowa and Robert Ssentongo had scored for Ngonge and Nkima respectively.
Last year’s losing finalists Mbogo lost 1-0 to Omutima Omusagi courtesy of Junior Lusaggi.
Mpindi also progressed to the semi finals after eliminating Ngeye 7-6 in spot kicks after a one all draw.
Edward Kabona scored for Ngeye in the normal play while Ronald Mugalu was the goal scorer for Mpindi.
Ngabi Nsamba eliminated Mmamba Kakoboza in penalties 4-2. The two sides had played to a one all full-time draw with Hakim Mutebi scoring for Mmamba Kakoboza and Samson Kasozi for Ngabi.
The semi finals will be played on Sunday 2nd-June at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.
Nkima will face off with Nkima at 2:00pm while Ngabi Nsamba will play Omutima Omusagi at 4:00pm
