UPDF FC outgoing midfielder emerges on BUL FC’s radar

BUL FC are interested in signing youthful midfielder Shugai Kaliisa from UPDF FC, Swift Sports understands.

Kaliisa is reportedly among the 13 players that will officially be parting ways with UPDF according to The Sports Nation.

Kaliisa joined UPDF at the start of the previous season and went on to feature in 16 of the 29 league games played.

He is a former national U15 and U17 Team player who launched his club career with the Express FC Junior Team in the FUFA Junior League.

Kaliisa is also a former student of Kawempe Muslim and Buddo SS as well as a former captain of the Kyadondo team in the Masaza Cup.

He was part of the U15 team that won the inaugural CECAFA U15 tournament in Eritrea in 2019, and also won the U17 CECAFA tournament in 2020 in Rwanda.

BUL FC embarked on reinforcement for the new season with the appointment of Ibrahim Kirya as an assistant coach while Ibrahim Mugulusi and Benon Tahomera signed new contracts.

The club has signed forward Dickson Matama from Jinja North United while Isaac Wagoina is expected to be acquired from Express FC.
