Tanzania champions Young Africans (Yanga) have expressed interest in signing KCCA FC striker Muhammad Shaban.
Shaban’s contract with KCCA FC will officially expire next month and sources reveal that the Lugogo based side will have to pay over 40,000USD for Shaban’s contract extension.
The latest indicate that the Yanga are ready to sign the Ugandan international this transfer window.
Shaban came to the limelight in 2016 when he he helped Onduparaka FC attain topflight division promotion as well as reaching the final of Uganda Cup in the same year but lost to Vipers SC.
He then left Onduparaka for KCCA FC and scored 13 league goals in his first season at Lugogo.
In 2018, Shaban joined Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in a deal worth $130,000.
He only spent one year in Morocco and in 2019 he joined six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC on a two year deal before he rejoined Onduparaka.
Young Africans is the home of Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho and former SC Villa defender Gift Fred.
They recently clinched a third consecutive Tanzanian league title in the 2023/24 season which is a record extending 30th title.
