Michael Ssebagala is set to leave his coaching role at Jinja Progressive Academy, Swift Sports understands.

Ssebagala is expected to embrace a new coaching challenge after serving a lengthy spell of over five years as the JIPRA head coach.

Ssebagala will leave JIPRA with an indelible mark having won numerous titles while nurturing a number of football talents.

He recently guided JIPRA to their first ever USSSA Elite Championship title after beating Jinja SS at Kakindu Stadium in January this year.

He also won four district championships (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2023) and two regional championships in 2019 and 2023.

It should also be noted that Ssebagala guided Gaddafi FC to a Uganda Premier League promotion from the FUFA Premier League in 2019.

He also achieved silverware with the BUL FC Junior Team as an assistant coach and Butembe Ssaza Team in the FUFA Juniors League and Busoga Masaza Cup respectively.

Ssebagala’s immediate destination remains a mystery but obviously not for so long.

Reagan Kalyowa (BUL FC), Nicholas Mwere (BUL FC), Richard Okello (BUL FC) and KCCA’s new signing Shafik Nana Kwikiriza are some of the notable talents he has nurtured at JIPRA.
