Hon.Kiyaga, Dr Mulindwa boost Mawokota’s 2024 Masaza Cup preparations

Mawokota Ssaza Football Team have officially unveiled their squad and technical team for the 2024 Buganda Masaza Cup.

The Unveiling ceremony was held on Tuesday 18th, June 2024 at the Mawokota Ssaza headquarters in Butooro, kamengo Town.

The event attracted top Mawokota personalities who included Kayima Sarah Nanozi , Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, Mawokota North Member of Hon Hillary Kiyaga, Hon Teddy Nambooze, Mpigi LC5 Martin Ssejjemba and Mr Dennis Bugaya the owner of Brook’s Agro farm all attended the event.

Vipers SC President Mulindwa supported the team with Shs10M and twelve select match balls to help the team in preparations.

Hon.Kiyaga also supported the team with Shs2M and urged his constituents to give support to the team in various aspects as their bid for their fourth Masaza Cup triumph.

Brook’s Agro farm are the main sponsor of mawokota team and invested Shs54M in this year’s campaign.

Mawokota also had a friendly games with Vipers SC ending in a goalless stalemate.

The management team of Mawokota Ssaza team unveiled Steven Bogere as their new head coach and who be deputized by former Uganda Cranes international Nestroy Kizito .

Bogere replaces Richard Malinga who has been at the helm for the previous four years.

He comes with a vast of experience in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup having previously led Buddu to the 2016 and 2021 triumphs.

Bogere has also handled SC Villa, UPDF, Proline, defunct Victoria University and lately Onduparaka FC.

Mawokota are three time Masaza Cup winners following their success in 2005, 2007 and 2013.

During the 2023 edition, their journey ended at the semifinal stage by eventual winners Bulemeezi.

The three times champions was dipped in Masengere group alongside Busiro, Buvuma, Busujju , Kabula and Ssese.

The tournament will officially kick off on Saturday 22nd June, with defending Champions Bulemeezi taking on any team in the Bululi group.
