SC Villa starman Patrick Jonah Kakande and defensive midfielder Diego Missi Ssemugera on Monday, 24th June appeared before the club’s disciplinary committee, Swift Sports Uganda learnt.
This website can reliably confirm that the duo appeared before the club’s disciplinary committee for their failure to get involved in the first week of training.
Kakande and Ssemugera missed the training sessions due to respective injuries but did not make a formal communication to the club for their absence.
Following their respective apologies, the 17 time Uganda Premier league champions have forgiven the two players and are expected to return to training this week.
On Monday, the club Spokesperson Asan Kasingye confirmed that two players are still contracted with the club and are to return to training. He also confirmed the release of captain Gavin Kizito Mugweri citing indiscipline.
Kakande was the club’s top scorer as they ended their 20 year wait without a league title, scoring nine goals and five assists.
He was also nominated for the player of the season accolade and he will battle with teammate Ronald Ssekiganda, Kitara’s Denis Omedi, KCCA FC’s Muhammad Shaban and Ronald Otti of BUL FC.
