Kitara FC are on the verge of losing creative midfielder Frank Zaga Tumwesigye whose contract with the club has expired.

Zaga joined Kitara at the start of the previous season on a one year contract after parting ways with Vipers SC.

He is now a free agent but there is room for a possible renewal if negotiations between both parties emerge successful.

Zaga was one of the instrumental players for Kitara FC during their recently concluded 2023/24 season.

The stylish creative midfielder scored four goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for the Brian Senyondo coached side.

His neat and stylish passing, vision and playmaking ability made him a darling to the Kitara faithfuls.

It remains to be seen whether Kitara can afford to lose one of their creative midfielders from last season.

Kitara will represent Uganda in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup after winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup at the end of last season.

The club is also expected to play against Ethiopia’s Mechal SC (Defence Forces) in a friendly in Ethiopia early next month.
