New league entrants Lugazi FC enter talks with former Vipers forward

New Uganda Premier league entrants Lugazi FC are in advanced talks with former Vipers SC and Maroons FC attacker Umar Kyebatala.

This website understands that Kyebatala is likely to seal a move to Lugazi FC this week.

Kyebatala is currently a free agent after expiration of his employment contract at Maroons FC.

He joined the Prison side at the start of the 2022/23 season from six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC.

Kyebatala is a former St.Mary’s Secondary school Kitende(SMASK) student whom he helped to the 2019 Copa Coca-cola and FEASSSA triumphs in Jinja and Arusha respectively. He also featured for Kibuli SS in the schools’ competitions before joining SMASK.

Lugazi are also in the search for new head coach with Sadiq Sempigi top of their whilst.

Interim coach Gerald Efiti led them to the topflight division after finishing second on the FUFA Big League table with 53 points last term.
