Paidha Black Angels sealed a promotion to the FUFA Big League with a 2-0 win over Northern Gateway in the second leg of the promotion playoff at the Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo.

Benjamin Opakrwoth and Juma Lutakome scored the crucial goals to ensure a comfortable 2-0 aggregate win following a goalless draw in the first leg a week ago.

Opakrwoth sent the fully parked Bar Okoro Stadium into a bouncing frenzy as he broke the deadlock from a well orchestrated move by Gaddafi Gadinho and captain Raymond Ayo Yoacelin the 52nd minute.

Lutakome put the game beyond doubt and sealed victory with a brilliant header from Jamal Sulaiman well delivered cross in the 95th minute.

The victory meant that Paidha Black Angels returned to the Big League after three years of absence.

The Blacks were relegated from the Big League in the 2020/21 season after finishing bottom of the Elgon Group table with only five points from 14 games played.

They have now joined Ntungasaze FC, MYDA FC and Buhimba Saints as the promoted quartet to the 2024/25 FUFA Big League season.
