Lugazi FC have completed the signing of lanky midfielder Nelson Mandela from Onduparaka FC, Swift Sports reliably understands.
Mandela spent the opening half of last season at Arua Hill before the club was bundled out of the league ahead of the second round.
He subsequently switched to Onduparaka in the Big League and helped the Caterpillars earn a respectable 4th place finish despite falling short of a promotion to the topflight.
Prior to the move to Arua Hill, Mandela played for Busoga United and Maroons FC.
He earned his topflight debut in the 2018/19 season under Charles Ayiekoh who was the Busoga United coach then.
Mandela also previously featured for Mvara SS and Kakungulu Memorial before captaining MUBS at University level.
He joins Rogers Adriko, another midfielder who has also signed for Lugazi FC.
The club has also signed former Vipers and U20 national team defender Bashir Asiku from relegated side Gaddafi FC.
The club officially unveiled Sadick Sempigi as their new head coach for the upcoming season.
