Uganda’s Sulaiman Segawa unanimously became the new WBC Silver Featherweight champion after defeating Ruben Villa.
Segawa had an astonishing performance in the second half of the fight that saw h cruise to a unanimous decision win over Ruben Villa on Saturday at The Pearl Theatre at The Palms Resort Casino.
Segawa unanimously won by 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94.
Segawa, who is originally from Kampala, Uganda and now resides in Silver Springs, Maryland came off a unanimous decision defeat to Mirco Cuello in March but staged a comeback were it matters most.
Before the fight, Villa was the favorite to win the fight. Both southpaws were very active from the opening bell. Segawa chose to stay in the pocket with Villa, which created back and forth exchanges.
