The 2024 Mutalaga Christmas Cup resumed on Thursday with two games played in Group K of the competition.
Muti FC opened their campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over St.Paul SSS FC in the first game at Lweza Playground.
Abu Brian alias Nokia and Yokole Talibu scored the two goals for Muti FC in the entertaining contest.
The other game in the same group was between, St.Lawrence University against Kikavule FC
St.Lawrence prevailed 2-1 thanks to goals from Julio Kalanda and Ssakiri Ibra.
Pius Ssekandi found a consolation for Kikavule but was not enough to inspire them to comeback.
This is the eighth edition of the competition that has been key to the raise of players such as Usama Arafat Kiiza, Joel Sserunjogi both at KCCA FC among others.
DC United are the reigning champions following their triumph last year.
The winners of this year’s tournament will be rewarded on Christmas Day, walking away with a Bull, cash prize worth Shs2M and winners’ medals courtesy of Frank Ssebanenya Mutalaga the brain behind the event.
