Rugby Cranes crashed out of the Rugby Africa Cup after suffering a 22-20 defeat to Zimbabwe on Saturday at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

The Rugby Cranes were looking to win their second Rugby Africa Cup title since hosting the competition in 2007.

The hosts had a poor start to the game and at halftime, they were trailing 20-0.

Phillip Wokorach’s astonishing performances in the second half were not enough to inspire the Rugby Cranes to a comeback win.

Wokorach who was named man of the match missed a penalty that could have won it for Uganda.

Victory sees Zimbabwe’s Stables cruise to the semifinals and will take on Namibia on Wednesday at Wankulukuku while the other semi-final will be between Kenya and Algeria.

On the same day, Uganda will take in Burkina Faso in the classification semifinal. Uganda will need to avoid an eight place finish to stay in contention for a World Cup place.
