Former SC Villa midfielder Ivan Sserubiri has joined Kitara FC ahead of their preparations for forthcoming 2024/25 season.
Sserubiri joins Kitara FC as a free agent following expiration of his employment contract at Gaddafi FC.
The combative midfielder joined Gaddafi in January after parting ways with SC Villa midway into last season.
“I am extremely excited that Kitara football club is my new home. I see the squad is, full of talented and ambitious players who I am looking forward to working with and add to the club’s success. I also want to be a better player than I was in the past season, let’s see how things go.” Said Sserubiri as quoted by Kitara FC website
Sserubiri had joined SC Villa from URA FC in 2023 and has also previously featured for Buddu in the prestigious Masaza Cup competition winning the 2016 edition and was also named as the Most Valuable Player of the competition that same year.
He also played for five time Buganda Masaza Cup winners Gomba as well as Buganda Regional League side Free Stars FC.
Kitara have already signed Fred Amaku, Ronald Otti, David Ndihabwe, Titus Ssematimba, Marvin Nyanzi among others.
The Royals are to face off with KCCA FC in the return leg of the FUFA Super 8 on Tuesday before hosting Kenya’s Tusker FC in the friendly match on Thursday.
Kitara will then host their CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary round first leg fixture in Libya against Libyan side Al Hilal SC Benghazi between 16th-18 August.
