The lanky goalkeeper played for Vipers between 2018 – 2021 before joining Kenya Premier League side Wazito FC in 2021.

Ssekagya rose to the Uganda Premier League scene with UPDF FC in the second half of the 2017-18 season and subsequently garnered interest from Vipers.

During his three year spell at Vipers, Ssekagya also had a loan stint at Proline FC in a bid to gain sufficient playing time.

Vipers have been searching for a goalkeeper in the transfer market and it is believed that they were convinced by Ssekagya’s impressive performance with the Select Team in the Super 8.

He was engaged in very advanced talks with Express FC but nothing conclusive was reached upon before Vipers came into the picture.

He is expected to provide health competition in the club’s goalkeeping department that also has Jack Komakech and Alfred Mudekereza.

Ssekagya is returning to Kitende as a direct replacement for Burundian Fabien Mutombora who recently left the club after six years to join Tanzania’s KMC FC.
