Former Serie A club in talks to sign Cranes defender Elio Capradossi

Uganda Cranes defender Elio Capradossi is set to join Pescara Calcio in the Italian Serie C.

Capradossi is currently a free agent after leaving Lecco FC as his contract expired at the end of last season.

As per multiple reports, Pescara Calcio are in positive talks with Capradossi over a possible transfer.

A new center back is a priority target for Pescara Calcio who are targeting promotion to back to Serie B as the new 2024/25 season kicks off this weekend.

It should be noted that Capradossi has previously been linked to Romanian giants Rapid Bucharest and CFR Cluj as well as Saudi Arabian second tier.

Capradossi made his Uganda Cranes debut in June against Botswana and Algeria in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

He was born in Uganda to an Italian father and a Congolese mother 28 years ago.

Capradossi grew through the AS Roma youth ranks, and played for the AS Roma senior team, Cagliari, SPAL, Spezia and Bari.

Capradossi played for Italy’s U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 before switching allegiance to Uganda.

Pescara currently competes in the Serie C (third tier) but previously featured in the Serie A in seven different seasons.
