Uganda Senior Women’s National Team (Crested Cranes) defender Aisha Nantongo has joined Egyptian Women Premier league champions FC TUT.
Nantongo has been playing her professional football at Danish outfit Aalborg BK whom she joined last year.
Besides playing as a central defender, Nantongo can be deployed as a right back and defensive midfielder.
She is a regular with the senior national team (Created Cranes) and was part of the squad that featured at Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2022.
Nantongo is naturally born leader having previously served as captain at school (St. Noa Girls SS) and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
She joins another Crested Cranes player Shadia Nankya at TUT FC. Nankya joined the club last week after serving five years with UCU Lady Cardinals.
FC TUT has both the Men and Women’s teams and in 2023 their women team achieved a historic victory by winning the 2023 Egyptian Women’s Cup before winning the league title last season.
TUT FC will be competing in the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers as the Egyptian representatives having won the league title last season.
