Midfielder Andrew “Sergeant” Kawooya has joined Mbale Heroes from Express FC, Swift Sports reliably understands.
Kawooya has completed a move to the Mbale based club on a one year employment contract.
He leaves Express FC after one season having joined the seven time league champions at the start of the previous campaign.
Kawooya played 11 games for Express and scored one goal which came in the 3-0 win over Gaddafi FC at Wankulukuku.
He is a former player of KCCA FC, UPDF FC and MYDA FC who rose to limelight with the Vipers Junior Team and St. Mary’s Kitende.
He was part of the Cubs team that represented Uganda at the U17 AFCON in 2018 as well as the Hippos Team at the U20 AFCON tournament in 2021.
Kawooya is the umpteenth player to be signed by Mbale Heroes in the ongoing transfer window.
He follows Umar Kyebatala, Sula Mpanga, Sulaiman Ssesaazi, David Tonny Kiberu, Davis Ssekajja and Solomon Opolot among others.
Ahead of the upcoming season, Mbale Heroes have also added former Cranes defender Richard Malinga on their technical team.
