Striker Derrick Nsibambi has expressed his delight upon the return to his boyhood side KCCA FC.

Nsibambi returns to KCCA FC on a two year employment contract that will see him feature for the side until June 2026.

“I am happy to be back home where it all started. When I had a conversation with the coach, I told him, yes immediately because I know this club through and through, I know what it means to the fans, so I want to be part of it again and I cannot wait to go again.” Said Nsibambi as quoted by KCCA FC website

Nsibambi’s first stint at the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions came in 2014 and ironically was handed his professional debut by current KCCA FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru.

He is remembered for scoring a late winner against Egypt’s Al Masry in 2017 to hand the Kasasiro Boys KCCA FC a first leg advantage heading into the return fixture in Egypt. KCCA FC would later qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, becoming the first Ugandan club to achieve the feat.

Nsibambi has also featured for the senior men’s National Team in a series of tournaments including the CECAFA, CHAN and AFCON qualifiers.

Besides KCCA FC, Nsibambi has also featured for Smouha (Egypt), Sebeta FC (Ethiopia), URA FC (Uganda), Al-Bashaeer (Oman), and Bandali (Kenya).
